Full-Time First Mate Position Available 

Traveling Fishing Operation - EUPHORIA

The Euphoria Sportfishing Program is seeking a candidate to fill the position of a professional sportfishing first mate in our traveling Sportfishing program. It is preferred that the candidate has a minimum of 1 year of real sportfishing mate experience.

 

The right candidate is hard-working, motivated, and an individual seeking full-time employment doing something they love. This program entails long hours, travel, and commitment as well as fishing in epic locations throughout the year, competing in tournaments, and learning from an experienced Captain.

 

The candidate must be someone who is driven, dedicated, reliable, personable, and eager to learn the cockpit and beyond on a custom Sportfishing boat. Positive, self-starter, energetic, and easy-going are some of the main characteristics that will make someone perfect for this job. Candidate must take pride in keeping the beautiful custom vessel meticulously maintained and aesthetically pleasing meaning it is necessary to have both interior and exterior cleaning abilities.

If hired, you will work directly alongside owner & captain, Ricky Wheeler. Having started his career in the fishing world as a Mate, he is a great resource to learn from and would never ask you to do anything he has never done himself. This program provides you with the framework to be successful.  You will be provided training on all areas of the boat and charter fishing as well as a breakdown of responsibilities (daily and per trip). Once your training is complete you will be responsible for carrying out all of your tasks without being asked to do so.

Candidate must be available full-time and able to travel. Housing can be the crew room aboard the EUPHORIA if need be throughout the year at no expense to the Mate.

 

• No criminal record. A background check will be performed.

• Must be a non-smoker (no exceptions).

• USCG OUPV “6-pack” license or better recommended but not required.

 

The compensation varies based on eligibility and experience. ​

Schedule:

• New Jersey - Summers 

• Bahamas - Fall and Spring

• Southern Caribbean location- Winter
